Centaur

Half human and half horse, the centaur joins animal instinct to human reason. Chiron, the wisest centaur, taught heroes and healed them, and the archer-centaur is the figure of Sagittarius. It stands for the arrow of aspiration: aiming high while keeping four hooves on the earth.

Uses

• Setting and pursuing far goals
• Teaching, mentoring, and higher learning
• Healing old wounds
• Uniting instinct and intellect

Working with it

Work with the centaur on a Thursday when setting a long-range intention. Write your aim on paper, fold it into the shape of an arrow, and point it toward the horizon you want to reach. Ask Chiron's wisdom to keep the aim honest and the body willing.
