Lion

The lion is king of beasts and the creature of the Sun in every tradition here: Agrippa, the Golden Dawn, and Leo's own symbol. As the Cherub of Fire it stands for courage, nobility, and the heart that leads. In alchemy the green lion devours the Sun, the raw force of transformation.

Working with it

Work with the lion on a Sunday at noon. Sit in sunlight with a gold candle and a lion image, and breathe as if your chest were full of warm light. Ask the lion for the courage to be seen.
