Iron

Iron is the metal of Mars: the metal of weapons, tools, and blood, which is red with iron. Every tradition here gives it to Mars. Folklore everywhere says iron repels fairies and spirits, which is why horseshoes hang over doors. Aries and Scorpio share it through Mars.

Working with it

Hang an iron horseshoe, ends up, over the door for protection. Iron nails driven into the ground at the corners of a property are an old ward, and iron nails in a witch bottle turn back harm. Carry an iron key or nail on Tuesdays for courage.
