Crab

The crab carries its home on its back and approaches the world sideways, guarding a soft interior with a hard shell. It is the creature of Cancer, ruled by the Moon, and follows the tides. It stands for protection of what is tender: family, home, and feelings.

Uses

• Protecting the home and family
• Emotional boundaries
• Moon and tide magic
• Nurturing and safe retreat

Working with it

Call on the crab when you need a shell: at a move, during grief, or when a household needs shielding. Place a shell or crab image by the front door on a Monday with a white candle. Ask it to guard the threshold and teach you when to come out.
